1.Idukki Arch Dam

Dam spreads over Kuravan and Kurathi hills with 550 feet height and 650 feet width. As per studies, Idukki arch dam is considered as Asia’s first and world’s second double curvature arch dam.The underground power station is at Moolamattom beneath Nadukani hills.  This arch dam beholds a 780 MW hydroelectric power station. Today this arch dam is under the control of Kerala State Electricity Board.

 

2.Idukki Wildlife Sanctuary

Idukki wildlife sanctuary spreading over 77 sq km area is a popular tourist spot in Idukki district. It is located at a height of about 450 to 748 m above sea level. Apart from amazing wild life species, you can see here a Idukki reservoir formed by Cheruthoni, Idukki and Kulamavu dams. 3.Nadukani

Nadukani with superb landscape view grabs the hearts of visitors. This tourist spot in Idukki district offers a panoramic view of surrounding district. You can see here a two storeyed pavilion to enjoy the gorgeous landscape view. Tourists can easily reach this destination by travelling twenty five kilometers from Idukki town. It is one among the best tourist spots located near Idukki town. Prestigious view of blue mountains and Muvattupuzha river from Nadukani grabs the hearts of viewers. Best time to visit this place is from the month of October to January
